"URANIA´S MIRROR": CELESTIAL CHARTS FROM 1825

A complete set of 32 beautifully-coloured charts published in London in 1825, showing 60 of the better-known constellations, including the 12 signs of the Zodiac. The major star positions are indicated, with some of their names in the original Arabic. In this listing, it can be assumed that all constellations were proposed and named by Claudius Ptolemy by AD140, unless otherwise indicated. Some were abandoned and never officially adopted, and these are marked with an*asterisk.

(Set Designers: when dressing a set for the 16th, 17th, 18th or early 19th centuries, make sure that your star charts, and the constellations they show, had been introduced and were in use at the time. If in any doubt, we will happily advise).

Zodiac signs, when suitably framed, make very acceptable presents for birthdays or Christmas. See also Flamsteed.s Celestial Atlas, Part 5, next.Price per image: £60.00.

It must be clearly understood that once images have been ordered, then put onto a CD or DVD, and the disc handed over or despatched, then every image must be paid for.
